Year: 2016

Program: Internship in mathematics

Country: India

My relationship with the Russian Federation started in December 2015, when I visited the country on my own initiative. Now my second experience is by an invitation from mv for my thesis work to complete my Masters (Mathematics, Central University of Rajasthan, India). Being attached to NSU, I have gained maximum experience in the shortest possible time. I enjoyed and enjoy working with fellow students. We had many open discussion sessions with students on General Topology. I noticed the following:

1. Students at the universities call their teachers/professors their names. In Indian university culture, we call our faculty “SIR”, and absolutely nothing else.

2. Thing I liked the most is the expression of thanks (spasiba/pojalutha) every time you meet a person in Russia.

3. There are many other precise Russian traditions.

Russian Education is ranked among the best in the world. Figures available on Wikipedia make me proud  to be a part of it. Student-Teacher relationships are very cooperative. I have seen students use social networks (VK, Skype). There is collaboration among students from different departments and countries to organize annual science/cultural festivals that give a boost to the institution. Apart from this, scientific seminars keep the stakes high and students motivated. The University journals are well known in the world.
