During a special course on the development of special equipment, school students at the Specialized Educational Scientific Center NSU (SESC NSU) designed two devices that can facilitate the work of laboratory assistants in the Chemistry Laboratory. One device measures the density of liquids, the other is a reagent accounting system.

SESC NSU 8th and 11th grade students, Nikita Sharov and Olesya Karpenko, won bronze medals as part of the 33rd International Tournament of Young Physicists (O-IYPT 2020) Russian national team.
The 54th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad for high school students took place in mid-July. Hosted by the Lomonosov Moscow State University Chemistry Department, it was the first to be held remotely with 130 students from 27 CIS countries, the Baltic States and South-Eastern Europe, participating. Stepan Epifantsev, a 10th grade student at SESC NSU, was a gold medalist.
An SESC team participated in the international stage of the International Mathematical Modeling Challenge (IMMC) for high school children. Two teams from Russia were among the 53 teams with representatives from 30 countries taking part in the traditionally remote competition.

From November 15-20, students from NSU鈥檚 Specialized Educational Scientific Center (SESC) High School participated in the GEOFEST -2019 international festival for the first time. The event was held at the largest school in the world in Lucknow, India.
SESC NSU and the TAMOS Education Private School (Almaty, Kazakhstan) agreed to organize a joint physics and mathematics summer school in Almaty.
