NSU Graduates Describe Process of 鈥淧rogramming鈥 Anxiety

Scientists used game theory to explain the emergence and evolutionary adoption of a non-adaptive trait for modern society, such as increased anxiety, at the genetic level in people. They showed that human anxiety could be a result of continuous hunting of dinosaurs for them.

NSU Scientists Propose New Pharmacophore

The search for new pharmacophores for uracil-DNA-glycosylase inhibitors will make it possible to develop drugs to reduce the virulence of bacterial and viral diseases, as well as to increase the effectiveness of treatment for oncological and autoimmune diseases. NSU Scientists Establish Relationship Between Grain Color, Storage, and Germination

Novosibirsk researchers were part of an international research group conducting unique research on the relationship between the morphological characteristics of soft wheat grain stored in a genetic bank for several years (from harvest to germination) using digital image analysis. NSU Winter School on Genetic Epidemiology Ends

NSU conducted the 2019 Winter School 鈥淚ntroduction to Multifactorial Disease Genomics鈥 in cooperation with the Institute of Cytology and Genetics SB RAS, and the Usher Institute of Population Health Sciences and Informatics (University of Edinburgh, UK). The NSU Laboratory of Theoretical and Applied Functional Genomics (鈥淪ynthetic Biology鈥 Strategic Academic Unity at the NSU Department of Natural Sciences) organized the school that was attended by undergraduates, graduate students and young researchers from Moscow, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, and Kazakhstan. This year, School participants were able to not only listen to lectures on the genetics of complex human traits, but also take part in practical exercises, and prepare reports on the most relevant current topics.
