We continue our series of interviews with foreign students. In this interview, An Na, a South Korean graduate of the NSU Institute for the Humanities Master's Program shares her story.

October 22 to November 11, the NSU Humanities Institute hosted the Second International Scientific "Heritage" Forum. Most Forum events, including discussions on studying national cultures and values amidst the challenges of globalization, were conducted using a video conferencing format.
Rene van Bevern, Head of the Algorithm Laboratory, NSU Department of Mechanics and Mathematics and Victoria Slugina, Deputy Director of Research at the Humanities Institute, studied the origin of the algorithm for a classic combinatorial optimization problem, 鈥渢he traveling salesman鈥.
In order to improve international cooperation with leading Asian universities, representatives of 天美mv took an active part in bilateral forums for rectors from Russia, Japan, Kazakhstan, and the Republic of Korea. The events took place at Moscow State University and Hankuk University of Foreign Languages 鈥嬧(Seoul, South Korea).
Boris Ilyushin, a junior researcher from the 天美mv鈥檚 Humanities Research Laboratory, has written a detailed biography sketch of Khan Mohammad-Amin, a significant figure in the history of the Kazan principality. His book, 鈥淢uhammad Amin 鈥 the King of Kazan: A Biographical Sketch鈥 presents famous episodes in the life and political activity of the Khan. Ilyushin researched the book from September to December 2018.
From August 24 to September 5, an archeology field school, "Multidisciplinary Methods of Studying the Stone Age Monuments", was organized in Kyrgyzstan as part of the International Archaeological Expedition. These field schools have taken place in Southern Kyrgyzstan since 2014.
Novosibirsk State University hosted the conference "Cultural Transfer and Cultural Contacts in Inner Asia". The event was organized by the Oriental Studies and Linguistics Sections and the NSU Humanities Institute鈥檚 Research and Education Center 鈥淗eritage鈥 together with representatives of the consortium 鈥淓uropean-Pacific University Network鈥 (EP UniNet).
The conference 鈥淪pain and Russia: The History and Today鈥 was organized and conducted by the Center for Spanish Language and Culture at the NSU Humanities Institute. The main objectives of the event were to strengthen ties between the two countries and to promote the Spanish language and culture. Presentations by guests and NSU students were given in Spanish with simultaneous translation.
The RSCI database is a Russian project based on RSCI public platform material. RSCI is integrated with the international Web of Science (WoS) citation database, so publications included in RSCI are automatically included in WoS. In 2018 RSCI recognized 773 Russian scientific journals in all RSCI subject areas (overall, there are about 5,000 journals).
UNESCO lectures are for students, teachers, and anyone else interested in the past and present of the People鈥檚 Republic of China (PRC), or the development of the "Belt and Road Initiative". Specialists from the Institute of Foreign Languages, the Law Institute and the Xian Jiaotong University Humanities Institute will conduct lectures.
